Census 2021 - Students must be counted too

As a student, you must be counted in the 2021 Census in Northern Ireland.

The information gathered in the census helps shape the future of education in Northern Ireland. You may have seen education feature in the opening scenes of the Census 2021 TV ad, it’s about our education.

If you travel to college from your home, remind the householder to include you on the household census form. Census 2021 can be completed online at census.gov.uk/ni

If you have student accommodation away from home, remember:

  • students from Northern Ireland must be counted at both your term-time and home addresses;
  • students from Great Britain or Republic of Ireland must be counted at your term-time address;
  • International students must be counted at your term-time address.

How to respond -

If you rent from a private landlord this short video shows you what you need to do if you are not currently at your term-time address.
