SERC is hosting a Part-time Enrolment Evening on Thursday 28 August from 4.00pm – 7.00pm at Bangor, Downpatrick, Lisburn and Newtownards Campuses.
Each year, thousands of people choose SERC for an adult education course. These part-time programmes are designed to help adults, whether they want to take first steps to return to education, to retrain or upskill, or to improve their CV, and help them continue their learning in a flexible format which fits around everyday life. Subjects available depend on campus and level of study.
If you feel you have missed out at school, you can return to education on one of our courses designed to get adults back to learning such as Restart Education – with the support of our creche facilities, if you study at our Newcastle Campus.
Our Further Education courses can help you gain recognition for your existing skills or get the skills and knowledge necessary to get back into employment, to retrain or to climb the job ladder. From a Level 2 Certificate in the Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Support Staff, to a Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning; from a Level 2 Certificate in Professional Bakery, to a Level 2 Certificate in Gym Instructing; or from Level 2 Certificate in Nail Technology to Arabic, French, Irish, Italian or Spanish at a range of levels, or English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), there are courses suitable for all students aged 16 and over.
Higher Education courses at SERC lead you to a recognised and respected qualification. With subjects from IT to Health and Social Care to Construction, covering vocational and professional skills, there’s bound to be something to set you on your chosen path.
Upskill on one of our many courses for business and industry, from Level 3 Award in Community Development, a Level 4 Certificate in Sports Massage Therapy or a professionally recognised course such as CIPD Level 5 Associate Diploma in People Management.
Leisure courses mean you are also able to try something new at SERC - just for fun - including painting for pleasure, DIY brickwork, floral art, leisure gardening, holiday languages and bread baking. Perfect for meeting new people, or plan to come along with family or friends.
On the enrolment evening you’ll be able to meet our tutors to discuss courses and speak to our careers advisors to explore your options and consider all the different pathways available to you. We can talk you through the applications and admissions process, as well as help you look at your goals and how to achieve them through a course at SERC.
