Construction & Civil Engineering Students Attend Future Skills Event

South Eastern Regional College (SERC) students from the Level 3 Construction and the Built Environment and Level 3 Civil Engineering courses recently attended Future Skills: Exploring Civil Engineering, hosted by the Institution of Civil Engineers at W5, Belfast.
Simon Cummings, Deputy Head of School for the Built Environment said, “The one-day Future Skills information event gave students an exciting insight into the wide range of career opportunities in civil engineering. They got to hear about different career pathways from current civil engineering students and took part in engaging demonstrations which utilised state-of-the-art surveying equipment, building information modelling, and drones."
Simon concluded, “The visit was a fantastic opportunity for students to see the latest industry techniques and skills in action. They all left the session feeling inspired about their future in the construction and engineering sector.”
