Throughout lockdown it's important to get outdoors, and keep the mind occupied, a great way to combine the two is by doing some gardening.
This week Horticulture lecturer Joanna Loane has provided us with some helpful advice on looking after primroses in pots
There are many varieties and colours of primrose (Genus Primula), which make them a lovely spring flower to have in the garden right now. If looked after well, primroses will look good and last for many years. This video demonstrates some tips for the care of primroses in pots, although, the same techniques can be applied when they are planted in the ground. It is a good idea to remember to give them a general-purpose liquid feed during the flowering season. This is, in fact, particularly important for any plants that live in pots, otherwise the compost in the pot will become depleted of nutrients that the plant needs as time goes by.
