Hays Recruitment Talk Business with SERC Students

As part of an ongoing partnership with SERC, Hays Recruitment recently visited SERC Bangor campus to help connect students with employers and the world of work.   

When anyone starts a course at SERC, the ultimate goal will be to prepare for employment or further study - with SERC or another college or university. Alongside support from the college’s Careers Team, tutors regularly arrange visits from employers, alumni, and industry leaders, giving students a real insight into career pathways and where their course can take them. 

LJMU BSc Business Management students at SERC Bangor Campus enjoyed one such visit when Matthew McArthur from Hays Recruitment was invited along to their class. During his visit, Matthew talked to the class about the future world of work and what employers are looking for within the business sector. Students gained valuable advice and tips on securing their first graduate job, including how to create a winning CV and optimising their LinkedIn profiles. 

SERC Lecturer in Business Management Suzi Donnelly comments, “We would like to thank Matthew for his valuable insights into the skills and attitudes needed for career success. The session emphasised adaptability, resilience, and continuous learning as essential qualities in today's rapidly changing job market. This will help the students prepare for future roles and thrive in diverse workplace environments.”
