SERC Level 2 and Level 3 Barbering students recently hosted a ‘Basketball Free-Throw' event at the college’s Lisburn Campus sports hall, to raise funds for Movember.

Movember is a campaign that takes place every November and challenges men to grow facial hair, get active to improve their mental health, or host their own events to raise funds and awareness for men's health causes.

SERC Barbering students decided to pitch in this Movember with a ‘Basketball Free-Throw', where staff, students, and the public could shoot some hoops for the chance to win discount coupons for the SERC Lisburn Campus Barbers, which is open every Monday during term time from 9.30am to 3.30pm and every Tuesday from 3pm to 6pm.

Sarah June Robinson, SERC Lecturer in Hairdressing and Barbering comments, “Our basketball free-throw event brought together other groups within the college for a few hours of fun, all while raising funds for Movember. Congratulations to all our winners, who not only scored discounts on great services but also helped us make a real difference.”
