Carpentry & Joinery
Overview
Carpentry & Joinery involves the craft of woodworking to construct various items. When you enrol in the Carpentry & Joinery programme at South Eastern Regional College, you'll acquire the necessary skills to manipulate diverse wood types and use tools safely in crafting structures like doors, windows, stairs and garden rooms.
Throughout the programme, you'll gain practical experience in measuring, cutting and assembling first fix, second fix and joinery products. You will familiarise yourself with various woodworking joints and their application in creating durable constructions.
Those who complete Carpentry & Joinery programmes commonly secure positions within construction firms, joinery workshops or set up their carpentry businesses. This field offers a practical and fulfilling avenue where you can transform raw materials into functional, and aesthetically pleasing, wooden creations. You may also decide to progress to site management and choose to undertake a Higher Level Apprenticeship.
