Greentech Upskilling Academy

SERC will be delivering a free Greentech Academy for candidates looking to upskill in Electrical Energy Storage Systems, Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment and Small-Scale Solar Photovoltaic Systems.
The Academy is fully funded through the Labour Market Partnership for Ards and North Down Borough Council.
Participants can enrol for 1, 2 or all 3 courses on offer.

Eligibility Criteria:
The qualifications are aimed at experienced and practising electrical operatives. All participants must meet the following criteria:
- A business address based in the Ards and North Down Borough Council area;
- A level 3 Electrotechnical qualification or equivalent; and
- The BS 7671 Requirements for Electrical Installations (current edition) qualification.
*All criteria must be met.
Courses:

Level 3 Award in the Design, Installation and Commissioning of Electrical Energy Storage Systems
This 3-day course will provide the learner with a good mix of theory and practical activities including how to identify equipment, arrangements and operating modes of electrical energy storage systems.
On successful completion of this course, the learner will be able to install electrical energy storage systems and be able to conduct initial verification and handover of electrical energy storage systems.

Level 3 Award in the Installation and Commissioning of Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment
This 3-day course covers the installation of dedicated conductive charging equipment for the charging of pure electric and plug-in hybrid electric road vehicles (PHEV) and includes the extended range of electric vehicles (E-REV).
It covers the installation of both AC and DC charging equipment intended for plug-in electric vehicles (PEV) complying with BS EN 61851 and “The Code of Practice for Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment Installations”.

Level 3 Award in the Installation and Maintenance of Small-Scale Solar Photovoltaic Systems
This 3-day course covers the requirements to install, commission and handover small scale solar photovoltaic systems, Install, commission and handover small scale solar photovoltaic systems,
On successful completion of this course, the learner will know the requirements to inspect, service and maintain small scale solar photovoltaic systems, Inspect, service and maintain small scale solar photovoltaic systems.
