We were delighted with the turnout of organisations, staff and students to the Community Support Organisation events hosted across SERC Campuses last week.
Hundreds of students took the opportunity to come along and find out about employment, volunteering and opportunities to make connection for further support, from a host of organisations in the local community.
Shirley Moore, Career Manager said, “Whist the Community Support Organisation event was designed for students who may not be continuing their studies at the college, it offered an opportunity for all students - and parents and carers - to engage with community and disability support organisations to explore training, education, volunteering and employability support available when a student completes their studies with SERC.”
She added, “The King’s Trust also attended to provide information to all students about its Development Awards, which can help cover the cost of course fees, tools or equipment required for specific programmes.”
If you missed the event in your campus and would like to find out more, please contact the Careers Team.
SERC would like to thank all the organisations and their representatives who came along to support the students.
