Keyfix, part of the Keystone Group, is widely recognised as a market leader in non-combustible cavity solutions for the external envelope. With a strong reputation for technical excellence and forward-thinking design, the company continues to set industry benchmarks by delivering solutions that exceed client expectations.

During the session, Mark delivered an insightful presentation on modern cavity solutions and innovation in high-rise construction to a diverse group of learners, including Level 2 brickwork trainees, Level 2 and Level 3 bricklayer apprentices, as well as Level 2 construction maintenance students. The session was also attended by key members of the SERC construction teaching team.

The presentation was complemented by a hands-on demonstration, where students had the opportunity to examine cavity trays and explore the latest technologies shaping high-rise building construction. The demonstration not only showcased cutting-edge products but also reinforced the critical role that non-combustible cavity solutions play in building safety and performance - an area of growing importance across the construction industry.

Speaking after the session, SERC Principal Lecturer Francis Rice emphasised the importance of collaboration between education and industry; “It was fantastic to have Keyfix with us on campus to present to tomorrow’s construction teams. Opportunities like this are invaluable in helping to bridge the gap between the classroom and the construction site. Engaging directly with manufacturers such as the Keystone Group ensures our students are exposed to the latest innovations, materials and best practices that are shaping the future of the industry.”

The visit highlights the ongoing commitment of the college to providing industry-relevant training and fostering strong partnerships with leading manufacturers. The college looks forward to continuing its collaboration with industry leaders like Keyfix and the Keystone Group, ensuring that students and staff remain at the forefront of innovation in construction.
