Whilst some of us have found time to relax in the good weather, spare a thought for some of our staff team members from the Training Organisation who have been pounding the streets in preparation for the Phoenix Energy Belfast City Marathon on 3 May.

Leading the charge in the relay event for team Ruff Runners are Sue Finney, Alison Ferguson, Tracey Dempsey, Andrea Foster and Andrew Gorman, all in support for Assisi Animal Sanctuary.

The team have been actively fundraising and some of them were captured (above) drumming up support with a delicious bun sale in Newtownards Campus recently.

All funds raised will help Assisi care for animals by providing essentials like food, shelter, and medical treatment, including surgeries, medications, and rehabilitation — giving them a second chance at a happy and healthy life.   It will also support their outreach programme, which helps individuals and families in our community who struggle to make ends meet, including providing food for themselves, their families, and their pets. Pets can be a literal lifeline for many, yet the cost of feeding them and paying for veterinary care is often a heavy burden.

Every donation goes directly to caring for animals. The team would dearly love your support and, as always, appreciate every penny.   Remember, no donation is too small.  You can support the team and their efforts at: https://eventmaster.ie/fundraising/pages/SF33323901

Good luck to team Ruff Runners!
