SERC Says Thank You to Local Employers

Local health and counselling employers who work with SERC to provide placements for students were recently welcomed to the college’s Newtownards Campus for a coffee morning to recognise and thank them for their continued support.

The event, organised by SERC Work Placement Officer Hannah McMeekin, provided an opportunity for health and counselling staff to thank employers for their ongoing collaboration throughout the academic year. Employers present at the event included Larne Wellbeing Hub, Shaftesbury Health Care, Millbrook Healthcare, Dunluce Health Care, Dunlady Nursing Home, Praxis Health Care, Camphill Care Home and Peninsula Healthy Living.

Employers were also able to network with one another and receive updates on the programmes currently delivered by the college, including Health programmes from Level 2 to Level 5 and Counselling programmes from Level 2 to Level 6.

Nikki Rainey comments, “As a SERC Curriculum Manager, I considered the coffee morning to be a great success. It provided a valuable opportunity to thank employers for supporting our health and counselling students throughout the year, while also gathering constructive feedback on how we can further enhance the placement experience for both learners and staff. I would also like to extend my thanks to Hannah and all staff involved in organising and supporting the event.”
