Congratulations to SERC student Curtis Ford who topped his recent competition success with a win at the Irish Schools Track & Field Championships on Saturday 30 May.
Curtis (17), from Lurgan, a student on the Level 2 Traineeship in Sport at SERC’s Lisburn Campus, won first place in the Senior Boys Javelin (800g) with a distance of 58.37 metres. His podium place smashed his other javelin throws for the District B Championships in April (52.67 metres) and the Ulster Schools Track and Field Finals in May (53.95 metres).
Colin Atkinson, Principal Lecturer, School of Arts and Sport at SERC said, “We are absolutely delighted for Cutis and his tremendous win in the Senior Boys Javelin at the Irish Schools Track and Field Finals in Tullamore. Curtis is disciplined, determined and deserving of this win which pitted him against some of the best young athletes from across Ireland. We wish him continued success in his athletics journey.”
