Newcastle Campus Open Day

At our Open day, our friendly lecturers and staff will be on-site to answer any queries you may have about our Restart Education & Access to University courses.

This event will take place on Wednesday 18th August 2021, 10am - 2pm & 5pm - 7pm

Restart Education

Requiring no formal qualifications, our free part-time ‘Restart Education’ course can provide adults with support in a nurturing and welcoming environment while building skills in english, maths, science, IT skills, social science and personal development. The course is suitable for people who want to re-train, change careers or simply help their children to learn. In addition, those attending the course will be assisted by the college to overcome any anxiety over returning to learning and classes are scheduled to be family friendly, working around school runs.

Access Diploma in Foundation Studies

The Access Level 3 Diploma in Foundation Studies is tailored for adults who have been out of full-time education for two years or more. The courses lead to a qualification validated by Queen's University Belfast which can take you onto Higher Education either here at SERC or in universities and colleges across the UK. If you have some qualifications and feel you missed out on university, or perhaps need a degree to move forward in your career, explore Access at SERC

Onsite Creche

Little SERC is our creche at Newcastle Campus, established to help parents who enrol on our courses who need access to pre-school childcare. It is fully equipped and staffed and provides professional care, safe and stimulating play and enjoyable learning for children from three months old to school age.
