SERC International Study

Study and work abroad

International experience is invaluable in today’s interconnected world and SERC encourages staff and students to take part in opportunities for professional and personal development. Erasmus+ is a European programme which promotes mobility around Europe; it is administered by the British Council and ECORYS UK and co-funded by the European Union.

Students Opportunities

Opportunities are available for students to travel, work and learn. An international experience can help them get the edge in an increasingly competitive job market as well as broaden their cultural horizons.

Higher Education

The scheme aims to offer a grant of between 450 and 500 Euros per month for work placements in a European enterprise of higher education institution.

SERC holds the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education 2014-2020 which is the quality framework for European and international cooperation. Download our Erasmus Charter and SERC Erasmus Policy Statement.

Further Education

Shorter-term group work placements give students the opportunity to gain invaluable work experience, and apply the knowledge and skills learned during their course; as well as a real insight into their chosen industry with an international dimension. Students are accompanied by staff members.

A group of 8 Level 3 construction students recently had an unforgettable experience in Malta, carrying out placements with the Ministry for Transport and Infrastructure within Drawing Office, Land surveying, Architecture, and Quantity Surveying departments.

SERC holds the Erasmus+ VET Mobility Charter which recognises the College's capacity to manage high quality mobility projects and assists our efforts to achieve greater internationalisation in VET through the Erasmus+ Programme. Download our Erasmus Charter.

Staff Opportunities

Training and teaching opportunities are available for staff in European education and industry to learn new skills, build relationships with colleagues throughout Europe, and gain a better understanding of European education in order to improve provision for learners.
