Students at South Eastern Regional College (SERC) got to meet local entrepreneurs at the concluding session of the Future Founders Programme at the college’s Bangor Campus.
Delivered by Young Enterprise NI, in partnership with local councils through the Go Succeed Business Support Programme, Future Founders was established to inspire ambition and entrepreneurship across Northern Ireland’s FE colleges.
Participants heard from three local entrepreneurs who shared their journeys, challenges and advice for future founders, including Naomi McCallum – Founder, Eden Beauty Portaferry, a dedicated beauty therapist known for her creative flair, community involvement, and commitment to elevating beauty and wellness experiences; Callan Peden, Founder, TAPP, which harnesses 20-plus years in tech, to help businesses create intuitive digital experiences and strengthen customer engagement; and Anne Murphy, Go Succeed Mentor and Serial Entrepreneur, Anne supports start-ups across Northern Ireland with practical guidance and insights through decades of experience launching and scaling businesses.
Future Founders is part of a wider initiative delivered across all 11 council areas and all six colleges in Northern Ireland, aimed at building a strong pipeline of entrepreneurial talent.
Go Succeed is funded by the UK Government and delivered by local government in Northern Ireland. The service supports entrepreneurs, new starts and existing businesses with easy-to-access advice and support – including mentoring, masterclasses, peer networks, access to grant funding and business planning – at every stage of their growth journey.
