Congratulations to former HNC International Tourism Management Student Hannah Louise Stewart on winning “Student Management Potential” at the Institute of Hospitality NI awards.
Hannah was nominated for the award by Catherine Anderson, Deputy Head of School for Hospitality, Management, Tourism and Languages and Rachel Suitor HNC Course Co-ordinator. Hannah was shortlisted following an interview, where she had to discuss her ambitions, academic achievements, and professional awards, as well as the key skills and attributes required for success within the industry.
Catherine said “Hannah is passionate about the field she studies in and this is reflected in the quality of her, academically and in her personal work life. Her dream job would be a travel writer, travelling the word and writing reviews on destination, hotels, restaurant and attractions for a publication company or within a blog. In her personal life, she has travelled 4 out of the 7 continents, having visited many countries in Europe, Thailand in Asia, and North America as part of personal holidays and has worked in Kenya in East Africa with a voluntary charity caring for animals in a conservation.”
She concluded, “Hannah has been a pleasure to teach and is an exceptional student who works hard both in an academic capacity and in her job role. She is dedicated and strives for excellence, always looking for greater challenges and ensures she gives of her best. She is a leader; team player and I have no doubts she will go far in her future career in Travel & Tourism.”
