South Eastern Regional College (SERC) is delighted to announce the launch of the SERC Procurement Portal; a dedicated platform designed to streamline and modernise the way the college’s finance department manage procurement activities for requirements under £50,000.

The new portal provides a centralised hub for smaller procurement processes, offering improved efficiency, transparency, and compliance. Key features include:

  • Online Supplier Registration: Suppliers can register their details online, ensuring up-to-date information and faster onboarding.
  • Electronic Quote Submission: The portal enables suppliers to submit quotes electronically for procurements under £50K, reducing paperwork and turnaround times.
  • Track requests and Submissions: Users can monitor the status of requests and submissions, providing greater visibility throughout the procurement cycle.
  • Compliance Assurance: Built-in checks help ensure adherence to SERC’s procurement policies and public sector regulations.

The launch of the portal supports the principles of the Procurement Act 2023, which aims to deliver greater transparency, fairness, and value for money in public sector procurement. By simplifying processes and reducing administrative burdens, the portal makes it easier for smaller organisations in our local area to compete for contracts.  The new portal will also help SERC meet obligations under the Act by promoting fair competition and supporting community-based suppliers. The new portal addresses challenges small businesses often face with public sector procurement by providing clear guidance and templates for submissions, offering transparent timelines and status updates, as well as reducing reliance on complex paperwork through digital processes.

For requirements over £50,000, SERC will continue to use the eTendersNI platform in line with public sector procurement regulations. This ensures compliance for higher-value contracts while maintaining transparency and governance. Staying engaged with both the new portal and eTendersNI platform ensures companies never miss an opportunity to work with SERC.
