Senior SERC staff welcomed guests from the East Kent Colleges Group to SERC Holywood Campus recently, to offer a tour of the Zero Carbon Centre and to talk about the skills training delivered there.

Dan Shelley, Chief Infrastructure and Transformation Officer and Lindsey Biggs, Chief Innovation and Skills Officer from the East Kent Colleges Group travelled to Northern Ireland to participate in the Department for the Economy’s (DfE’s) annual Showcase conference in Belfast, and were accompanied on their visit to SERC by Dr Lorna Warren, Head of Quality Improvement at the DfE.

The visit to SERC was an opportunity to explore, learn about and share practice in the area of skills development programmes and projects relating to Green Skills.  The event opened with a presentation on the development of the Zero Carbon Centre and included a tour of the buildings installed specifically for specialist courses in areas such as heat pump systems, electric energy storage, and retrofitting domestic properties.
