Open House Festival in association with Merely Theatre bring you Romeo & Juliet’s young love in all its raw and savage beauty.

Lovers from feuding families wed in secret, but their plans are torn apart by bitter violence. A desperate attempt to reunite them goes awry, and their union falls apart with tragic consequences. The show drives through action-packed thrills and tender intimacy to crushing loss.
In this unique and compelling production, five actors take on multiple roles to deliver the tale with the company’s signature style of urgency, humour and clarity.
From England, Merely Theatre is committed to performing classical works and selected pieces of new writing. Known for a stripped back style that puts the focus on the text, Merely aim to make theatre as accessible, entertaining and vital as possible.  Their tireless work toward that aim has seen the company become known for ‘Sweaty Shakespeare’.
