Visit our Open Evening tomorrow (Thursday 04 June) and explore the range of full-time and part-time courses available at SERC.
Meet our expert tutors – with experience working in their field – and discuss the opportunities opening up to you this September.
Whether you are moving on after school, or looking to return to education to develop personally and professionally, SERC offers a choice of pathways to achieve your goals. We deliver real learning, for real life. And our students will tell you, it’s a great choice for your next step.
Grace Dugan, who is 21 and from Comber, has just finished a Higher-level Apprenticeship in Culinary Arts, employed at the Culloden Estate and Spa and studying at SERC. She says a visit to an open evening convinced her to enrol:
“I was impressed by SERC Bangor Campus and especially the enthusiasm of the staff. When I visited, the whole teaching team came to meet me and show me the kitchens and explain the courses available. And the facilities are good – they have everything, all the equipment we could ever need.”
Dylan Burns (aged 19) from Lisburn progressed from a Traineeship in Mechanical Engineering at SERC to an apprenticeship in Mechatronic Engineering. He found the move to college very smooth. He says,
“College is different from school, but it didn’t take me too long to settle in. The tutors are great, and because the classes are smaller, it is easier to get that one-to-one support if you need it. You meet a lot of like-minded people on the course, as they have chosen the same subject area and the same pathway.”
SERC also delivers leisure courses where you can explore or develop a hobby. Rodrick Downer (83) from Killyleagh, is a leisure student on the Painting for Pleasure course at SERC’s Downpatrick Campus. He says, “There is great camaraderie in the class. Everyone has different tastes, so you choose your own subject to develop your skills and techniques, and we learn from each other."
SERC’s Full-time and Part-time Open Evening runs from 5pm-8pm on Thursday 4 June, at our campuses in Bangor, Downpatrick, Lisburn and Newtownards.
