Martine McNarry (40), from Bangor, and Sophie Thompson (25), from Donaghadee, are currently completing the NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy at SERC under the guidance of lecturer Lynn Hamil-Fitzpatrick.
Both students have consistently demonstrated excellence throughout their studies and are no strangers to success, having also performed exceptionally well in SERC’s annual inter-campus Beauty Therapy competition earlier this year. Their performance has been recognised by skincare specialists Dermalogica.
Tutor Lynn Hamil-Fitzpatrick said: “SERC has an established educational partnership with Dermalogica. As part of their training, students complete the Dermalogica Aspire Programme Workshop Award, designed to enhance practical skills and build confidence as they prepare for employment within the industry.
“Each academic year, up to two students are selected to receive the Student of the Year Award. This prestigious accolade provides access to a comprehensive three-tier professional development programme, in addition to a Dermalogica skincare kit.”
Lynn added, “Both Martine and Sophie were nominated by their lecturers in recognition of their outstanding commitment, consistent performance throughout the year, and genuine passion for skincare and the beauty industry. They have also demonstrated a strong commitment to their education. We are absolutely delighted to see their hard work recognised and to celebrate their success.”
