Evie, who is 22 from Carryduff, was awarded the Prize for Excellence for attaining the highest level of academic achievement among all Queen’s University Belfast Foundation Degree in Early Childhood Studies students who completed their course through the six Regional Colleges in Northern Ireland.

On her win, Evie comments, “I was completely shocked but I’m over the moon about winning the award. I feel SERC has really contributed to me achieving this accolade – my tutors have been amazing and have really supported me, along with the Learning Support team who have helped me manage my health conditions while studying at the college.”

Evie has now accepted an offer from Edge Hill University in Lancashire to study an Early Years Education degree, and plans to apply for a PGCE course with Edge Hill in the future.

Evie concludes, “Overall, I would definitely recommend my course and SERC to anyone thinking about their next steps.”
