Hair and Media Makeup Trainees Test Their Creative Skills

Thirty trainees from Hair and Media Makeup courses across SERC campuses gathered in Lisburn, along with their volunteer models, to pit their skills and imagination against one another in the annual intercampus competition recently.

The theme was “hair through the ages,” and students had two hours to complete the look.

The final creations were judged by Carol Ritchie, salon owner, and past SERC student Sunita Shaw who encouraged all the entrants to succeed in their course with stories of some of the stage and TV productions she has worked on since completing her qualification.

After some tough deliberations, the winners were announced: first place went to Kelsey Shilliday (17) from Drumaness, studying at SERC Downpatrick Campus; second place was awarded to Charlotte Montgomery (19), from Lisburn and studying at SERC Lisburn Campus;  and Georgia Pritchard from Newtownards who is 25 and studying at SERC Bangor Campus was named runner-up.
