SERC Shortlisted for OCN NI Learner Endeavour Awards 2026

Several SERC students, projects and staff have been shortlisted for the Open College Network Northern Ireland (OCN) Learning Endeavour Awards.

OCN is an educational charity and awarding body that advances education by developing qualifications for adults and young people throughout Northern Ireland.

In this year’s Awards, SERC has finalists in four award categories.  

In the Traineeship/Apprenticeship Learner of the Year category:  

  • Level 2 Traineeship in Information Technology student Aaron Connor (17) from Bangor 
  • Level 2 Traineeship in Information Technology student Kenzie Stevenson (18) from Donaghadee 
  • Level 2 Traineeship in Professional Chef student Dean Mackintosh (23) from Bangor   

In the FE Learner of the Year category: 

  • OCN NI Level 4 Award in Social Media and Digital Marketing student Ewa Gillan (23) from Belfast 

In the Inspiring Tutor / Teacher of the Year category:  

  • SERC Lead Business Skills Manager Stephen McGreevy 

In the Advancing Learning Through Innovation category:  

  • Be Your Own Boss Course 
  • Newcastle Families Learning Together Hub 
  • Culinary Arts School Thrive Programme 

The Award finals will take place on 23 June in the Titanic Suite, Belfast.
