Directorate Information and Networking Event

On Thursday, 19 June, 128 staff from across SERC convened at Downpatrick Campus for the Planning, Performance and Engagement Directorate Information & Networking Event.  

Staff had the opportunity to catch up over coffee and scones on arrival whilst adding individual our opinions to the comments wall. There were still new colleagues to meet, even for staff who thought they knew everyone at SERC.  

Participants then shared their thoughts on a series of questions before getting the low down on the Planning, Performance and Engagement Directorate through speed networking.   This involved colleagues from various roles and functions in the Directorate, giving an elevator style pitch about their roles and areas of responsibility, and answering questions from staff at each table.  We think everyone found out something new about SERC and came away with a better understanding of how different areas operate.  

Heather McKee, Director of Planning, Performance and Engagement shared SERC’s new  Vision and Mission, outlined strategic priorities and the mechanism for implementing  change across SERC.   ‘Anything is possible’ was the take away.  

Heather gave candid responses to the ‘Ask Heather’ section, including why she is passionate about further education, before Catherine Shipman gave an overview of responses to ‘sharing your thoughts and reflections’.
