The SERC LRC has now rebranded to the SERC library.
SERC Library Manager David Greer comments, “After consulting with library users via our student survey, 86% of respondents preferred the title ‘library’ or had no preference, over our longstanding title LRC (Learning Resource Centre). We also felt some new students might be confused as to what a LRC is, while the vast majority would know what a library can offer. Therefore, we felt the time was right to return to our traditional name of the library.”
The library is much more than a repository of books, it offers:
- Almost 30,000 books
- E-resources (including over 1200 - books), as well as e-resource and e-book inductions
- Helpful and knowledgeable staff
- Stationery sales
- Laminating and project binding services
- PCs with specialist course specific software
- Printers and photocopiers
- Library inductions
- Silent, individual and group study rooms
- Talks from local artists
- Creative meet ups and book clubs – more details to follow
- Student art and projects displays
- Fabulous Fiction Library (bring a book take a book)
- New fiction section in the Bangor library donated by Libraries NI
A massive thanks to the SERC Creative Developers team who created, printed and installed the new signage in record time.
