National Parenting Week is a significant event that takes place from the 20th to the 24th of October 2025. This week is dedicated to recognizing the importance of parenting skills and the impact they have on a child’s personality and development.

Upcoming sessions in October:
- Parentline NI are offering a workshop for parents of primary school aged children – the session will explore why your children worry and ways you can support them. It will take place on Tuesday 7 October 2025 from 10am to 11.30am via Zoom. To reserve a place telephone 0808 8020400.
- The South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust are holding an information and support event in Lisburn City Library for parents and carers of children with autism and ADHD and those waiting for assessment. - Aware NI, the depression charity for Northern Ireland, are offering a 6-week online introductory mindfulness programme specifically tailored for parents, and for carers of children and young teens. The Mindful Parenting course explores the many aspects of parenting and how bringing mindfulness to your roles as parents enhances your lives and wellbeing, as well as your child’s. The sessions take place via Zoom on Fridays from 10am to 12pm– they commence on 17 October 2025 and run until 21 November 2025. To register, click here.
