SERC Graduation and Launch of HE Excellence Awards

SERC will be hosting our graduation ceremony at the Waterfront Hall/ICC, Belfast on 19 September 2025. Graduation is one of the college’s showpiece events that celebrates the excellent achievements of our higher education students.  Information on ticket sales and a link for their purchase will be available to eligible graduands in early July. 

Graduation will also provide an opportunity to recognise those outstanding students whose activity and achievements surpass expectations, as we will be presenting Higher Education Excellence Awards. HE Student of the Year will be awarded to one winner per school:

HE Student of the Year – School of Arts and Sport 
HE Student of the Year – School of Business, Health and Hospitality
HE Student of the Year – School of Built Environment
HE Student of the Year – School of Engineering and Science 

Lecturers can nominate any final year student on course to graduate this September from any course level 4 or above,  including HND, HNC, Foundation Degree or Degree.  To nominate a student for any of the above categories and to view the criteria, please visit:

This year, we are also accepting nominations from staff or students for awards in the following categories:
Higher Education Students' Union Officer of the Year
Higher Education Students' Union Class Rep of the Year
