If you were born between 1 September 2002 and 2 January 2011, you could have money sitting in a Child Trust Fund (CTF). Or, if you know someone born during that time, you can encourage them to check.

CTFs are long-term, tax-free savings accounts set up by the government. A small amount of money was deposited into each account, and the funds become available to claim when the account holder turns 18.

The average amount claimed is around £2,200, but hundreds of thousands of accounts remain unclaimed.   It’s quick and easy to check. Use the free tool on GOV.UK to find out if there’s money waiting to be claimed.

Don’t let forgotten savings go to waste - check today.
