South Eastern Regional College (SERC) has been shortlisted for the ‘Green Public Sector Organisation of the Year’ category as part of the Green Awards 2026.
The Green Awards celebrates organisations dedicated to environmental responsibility and sustainable innovation, providing them with national recognition for their efforts and a platform to showcase their impact. The ‘Green Public Sector Organisation of the Year’ category, celebrates organisations that not only demonstrate exceptional commitment to reducing environmental impact and implementing green practices, but also go beyond standard expectations within their sector. SERC was chosen from a record 300+ entries received this year for the Awards.
Some of the key initiatives that SERC undertook to secure this shortlist include the establishment of a new retrofit training suite, the introduction of Northern Ireland’s first green technology skills qualifications, the training of community champions, and embedding sustainability education throughout the project based learning (PBL) curriculum.
This multifaceted approach not only underscores the importance of sustainability, but also actively involves individuals and communities in working towards a greener future.
The Green Awards 2026 award ceremony will take place on 24 February 2026 at the Clayton Hotel in Dublin.
