Nominate a Young Leader for a Fantastic Opportunity

The Washington Ireland Program (WIP) is offering young people (aged 18-29), who are active in their community, the opportunity to take part in leadership training that will enhance career opportunities. The young people joining the WIP Academy will develop skills in presentation, innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship, and it’s down to tutors to nominate candidates.
Tutors are encouraged to put forward the names of suitable students (with their permission!) as soon as possible; the student will then be sent an application form, which must be returned by Sunday 18 January.
The WIP Academy particularly welcomes interest from young people who have caring responsibilities, from those who have disabilities, and from part-time students. The course is designed to be flexible to allow for other commitments such as work, study, volunteering and caring.
It is free to join the Academy, and travel scholarships are available to cover up to 100% of public transport costs.
The WIP Academy begins with a one-night residential in Armagh on February 27th - 28th. Each participant will then take part in an 8-week remote work project with a high-profile US organisation, running in March and April and taking around 2-4 hours per week. There will also be in-person events on March 28th in Dublin and April 18th in Belfast.
Following this, over the summer participants can benefit from the WIP mentorship scheme and learn from online sessions with community leaders from across the U.S, Ireland and Northern Ireland. The program ends with a graduation in September in Belfast.
No formal qualifications are needed and you can find the nomination form here - it is recommended that you submit the form by Wednesday 14 January so that nominees have time to complete their application.
