Leisure Digital Photography
These courses are suitable for beginners and the more experienced photography enthusiast.
Students are taken through the basics of photography, given understanding of Speed, Aperture, ISO, Depth of field and other fundamental photographic terms, and then encouraged to explore the limitations of their cameras through a series of themed assignments: “Landscape”, “The Figure” and “Interiors”. Specialist areas such as digital adjustment, digital imaging and graphics, preparation for print, preparation for upload and digital storage of photos will be addressed in an on demand basis with individuals. Photoshop and digital image cataloguing software will be used in the workshop sessions.
It is essential that students have a digital camera and its manual, at least competent computer skills, be prepared to work either Mac or Windows, its desirable students have some familiarity with Photoshop and have access to similar software such as Photoshop Elements, Gimp or Fire alpaca, Picasa or iPhoto and must be prepared to work outside the workshop on assignments.
You will be introduced to working on location and in a photographic studio (portraiture and still life/macro) using professional lighting and equipment.
You will also gain experience in working with digital image adjustments using Photoshop CS6 for MAC.
It is desirable that students have some familiarity with Photoshop and have access to similar software such as Photoshop Elements, Gimp or Fire alpaca, Picasa or iPhoto and be prepared to work outside the workshop on their photography.
It is essential that students have their own digital camera and its manual, at least competent computer skills and be prepared to work on a MAC.

Pearson BTEC Level 4 HNC in Art and Design (RQF) (Photography)
This exciting, new and dynamic full-time one year practical course offers students the opportunity to study contemporary photographic practice. Students gain experience and practical knowledge in contemporary industry practice using state of the art equipment whilst applying practical business practice to prepare them for work or to top up to the HND Photography.
Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Art and Design (Photography)
This one year, full-time photography course (15 hours per week) is aimed at preparing post A-level and mature students alike who perhaps do not yet have the necessary entry requirements or portfolio for entry into higher-level qualifications.
This is a beginners Photoshop course. Students will learn the basics of photo-editing and manipulation of images.
