BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Sports Coaching and Development
Course Overview
This course is a two year programme which is equivalent to two A-Levels. In the first year of the programme you will complete an Extended Certificate (1 A-Level equivalent) and will have the opportunity to exit at this stage. Those progressing to year two will top-up to the diploma. (2 A-Level equivalent)
The qualification gives learners specialist knowledge and technical skills, enabling entry to employment within the field of coaching, or possibly progression to a related higher-education course. (may require additional qualifications) The course will give you a wide range of skills and behaviours required for working in the sports coaching industry. Learners will develop their coaching, leadership and instructing skills so that they can work independently as a sports coach, ensuring safe and effective coaching for their sport of choice. This qualification includes a minimum of 20 hours’ work placement. There is an attendance commitment requirement of 15 hours per week.
